Marina Lathouri has taught at the AA since 2000 and is director of the MA History and Critical Thinking programme. She studied architecture, philosophy of art and aesthetics. She has previously taught at the University of Pennsylvania and has also been involved in several architectural competitions and large scale urban projects in France, Switzerland and the USA. She has been Visiting Professor at the University of Cambridge and the Universidad Catolica in Santiago, Chile. Her publications include The Intimate Metropolis: Urban Subjects in the Modern City (Routledge, 2009).
